We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Trade Assistant to join the maintenance team** **at our client's large, modern** **facility in Wacol. They're Australia's largest smallgoods meat and food processing manufacturer

**Pay rate $31 per hour**

**Hours of work from 6am to 2.30pm, Monday to Friday plus potential overtime**

This position will be assisting the maintenance team maintaining equipment to support the day-to-day production requirements of the business.

We are looking for self-motivated person who is reliable and takes pride in their work, with a strong safety focus

**Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)**:

- Assist with repairs
- Help to ensure the plant maintains the highest level of productivity possible to achieve business targets
- Repair facilities and assistance implementing site improvements
- Provide support to tradespeople
- Follow safe work practices
- Participate in continuous improvements and problem-solving initiatives
- Speedy reaction to breakdowns and urgent work
- Ensure all documentation is maintained as required

**About you**:

- Qualifications or equivalent industry experience
- Trade background will be advantageous
- Understanding of refrigeration, compressed air and steam generation systems highly desireable
- Experience in a fast-moving, high volume food manufacturing environment preferred but not essential
- Knowledge of Work Orders, Risk Assessments, Maintenance and Planning / Scheduling etc.
- Basic knowledge in Lockout Tag-out procedures
