About us As a department our purpose is to help the community to prevent, prepare for, respond to and recover from the impact of fire and emergency events. Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) is the primary provider of fire, rescue and emergency management programs and services throughout Queensland. The department encompasses the Fire and Rescue Service, disaster management services, the Rural Fire Service and the State Emergency Service, and also supports other volunteer groups providing emergency response to Queenslanders. QFES is one department with many services, many capabilities and many partners. Purpose of the role Organisational Doctrine provides support in the management, development and review of the QFES Doctrine framework and all policy and procedure products for corporate services, disaster management services, FRS, RFS and SES. This includes overseeing the process and reporting for product review which is achieved by the engaging with those responsible for delivering, reviewing and assessing their requirements to support effective service delivery for the community. Reporting to the Principal Program Officer, you will be a key member of the team, responsible for developing, delivering, and reviewing tools, templates, and other documentation, including the maintenance of content utilising Microsoft SharePoint by updating and processing documents to the site. You will also be required to work closely with internal and external stakeholders to support ongoing maintenance and improvements to organisational doctrine, and project management frameworks, ensuring organisational priorities are promoted and actions, feedback and improvements are captured and built into the system. Key requirements Highly desirable requirements - Experience in providing business services support in a dynamic environment. - Knowledge and understanding of electronic records management, web content management, policies and systems. Your key accountabilities Your part in the ongoing success of our department, in supporting frontline services will see you responsible for a variety of work, including, but not limited to: - Assist in the design, development, implementation and ongoing maintenance and improvement of online doctrine content management systems to ensure efficient and effective service delivery. - Maintain internal process management tools and quality assurance services, ensuring appropriate governance and controls are in place, and provide recommendation for continuous improvement. - Coordinate and deliver records and web content management, and database administration, whilst complying with business systems, processes and policies to ensure all information is accurately published, stored and accessible. - Contribute to research and environmental scanning in relation to the preparation of advice, correspondence, briefings and reports relating to organisational doctrine issues and initiatives. - Respond to, or coordinate resolution of enquires and issues to ensure provision of accurate information and best practice initiatives are delivered in a timely manner. - Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and support change management practices in a consultative manner to enable improved delivery of products. - Provide support in progressing projects or surge capacity requirements, both independently, and as part of a team, to progress branch deliverables where applicable to assist business continuity. - Provide confidential high-level, administrative support including the coordination of conferences or workshops and ongoing product enhancements to support continuous improvement initiatives.
