The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Social Worker (Mental Health - Adolescent Day Program) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

Provide a comprehensive and flexible mental health service to children, young people and their family/carers
Work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team, to provide integration and coordination between different sites or programs
Participate in the development of the Social Work Profession by engagement with the Mental Health and Specialty Services Social Work Network and undertaking discipline-specific portfolios where appropriate
Participate in the design, implementation and evaluation of group programs

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:
A tertiary degree in Social Work
Eligible for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
Driver licence
Blue card / Working with children check (GCH will cover cost)
Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Permanent full time
Base salary ranging from $79 051 - $116 189 per annum

About Us

The Adolescent Day Program is part of the state-wide Child and Youth Mental Health Services continuum of care providing specialist, multidisciplinary assessment and integrated treatment for adolescents with severe, persistent mental illnesses which results in severe psychosocial impairment. The Adolescent Day Program operates on the premise that young people can and do recover from mental illness. A range of interagency, recovery-focused, psychosocial, educational and vocational programs are tailored to the young person's assessed clinical and rehabilitation needs are facilitated enabling the young person to build on their strengths, enhance their self esteem, build on opportunities for social inclusion and promote recovery-focused outcomes upon discharge.
