Assistant Company Secretary

Join our team as an Assistant Company Secretary on a 12-month fixed-term parental leave cover. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in supporting our Company Secretary (CS) by delivering quality company secretarial support and offering expert advice on corporate governance within the Equity Trustees Group.
**About the role**:
- 12-month fixed-term maternity leave cover role, 5 days a week
- Administer and manage meetings of subsidiary companies and their sub-committees
- Provide support to the parent entity Board and its sub-committees, including external governance reporting projects
- Collaborate with the CS to ensure governance and legal compliance
- Manage subsidiary company meetings, ensuring compliance with APRA, ASIC, ACNC, and ASX obligations
- Draft ASX announcements for the Holdings company, covering substantive or statutory matters
- Advise on Corporate Governance best practice and support an effective corporate governance framework, including by developing / reviewing, charters, policies, procedures and compliances.
- Prepare and lodge timely and accurate corporate regulatory filings, including ASX lodgements and ASIC filings.
- Assist with the preparation of the Annual Report and Corporate Governance Statement
- Assist with the preparation of the Notice of Meeting and other governance aspects of the Annual General Meeting
**What you'll need to succeed**:
- Minimum five year's experience in an ASX Listed company
- Strong relationship building skills
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience using Diligent board paper portals, Microsoft Office suit and Adobe Acrobat
- Tertiary qualifications in Business/Law
- Post-graduate qualifications in Corporate Governance (highly desirable)
