**About the Opportunity**
Reporting to Laboratory Manager you will construct fire test specimens, perform fire testing, and prepare reports. You will also be responsible for:

- Construct official fire test specimens in accordance with the requested test details, to a high level of accuracy and quality
- Assist with planning for all tests and purchasing of the necessary materials
- Perform fire testing of specimens as required of a NATA accredited laboratory
- Prepare fire test reports that include thorough recording of construction and fire test details, report writing and AutoCAD drawings
- Calibrate and maintain testing equipment
- Respond to instructions to ensure that works are carried out in a timely manner
- Attending official tests and check/review test record files and other technical documents.

**About You**
- Practical building skills and experience with various power tools and other construction equipment is essential
- An interest in fire test standards and the ability to follow the requirements for construction and testing activities
- Ability to construct test specimens to the exact specifications requested
- Excellent English communication skills both written and spoken
- A Forklift license (preferred)
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office. AutoCAD would be highly regarded but not essential
- A high level of attention to detail
- Excellent attitude toward work safety and housekeeping
- Desire to find solutions to difficulties when they arise
