The receptionist must:

- Must be able to walk up and down one flight of stairs and have a reasonable level of fitness. Filing is done in a standing position and can last from a few minutes to a total of more than one hour in one session.
- Must have good hearing.
- Must be comfortable wearing a well fitted surgical mask for the duration of the session.
- Must have an interest in working productively.

**Details **of the job:

- Regular sessions from 9.30am to 1.30pm on Mondays and Tuesdays.
- Current pay is $33.13 per hour, and 11% super, and adjusted annually on 1 July in line with the modern award.
- Answering the phone, taking appointments, greeting patients.
- Billing Medicare, using vouchers, Veterans affairs and insurance claims.
- General office work, filing correspondence, managing a paper based medical record system, bookkeeping and keeping the accounts.
- Operate Microsoft Works database, Excel, and Microsoft Word for word processing.

The receptionist should be;
- comfortable working with people, and be able to relate to both young and old.
- comfortable to work in an environment where there are frequent interruptions, whilst maintaining productivity.
- able to work independently and at the same time appreciate that we all work together as a team.
- competent in using a computer, keyboard and mobile phones because we plan to transition from a largely paper-based system to a computerised system for patient records, billing and other tasks like patient recall, patient texting etc.

We have a pleasant group of patients. We enjoy their stories, friendliness and humour.

We will provide job training to the successful applicant, usually over 2 or 3 days. We use a Receptionist Manual to assist in our tuition.
