Heritage Project Officer

An exciting and unique opportunity exists for a talented and passionate individual to join the Heritage Services team as Heritage Project Officer to manage and protect Aboriginal cultural heritage across Victoria.
The responsibilities of the Heritage Services team include administering the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006, working collaboratively with Registered Aboriginal Parties, and fulfilling the Secretary's role in administering Cultural Heritage Permits and Cultural Heritage Management Plan.
As the Heritage Project Officer, you will work with Aboriginal communities to coordinate and/or deliver FPSR project-based work to strengthen the Aboriginal community's capacity to manage their cultural heritage and identified culturally significant places and landscapes. Facilitating cultural heritage management and protection training to Registered Aboriginal Parties and Traditional Owners will be an essential requirement of this role.
Please note, a relevant tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (History, Archaeology, Cultural Heritage, Anthropology) and a current driver's licence are mandatory for this role.
