**About the opportunity**

The purpose of this role is to empower managers to take ownership of safety outcomes by providing expert safety technical advice and support to managers and employees within the Network.

The role will require frequent travel between different sites within Melbourne.

**What you’ll deliver with us**

**You’ll also**
- Build and maintain a trusted partnership and coaching relationship with operational leaders to drive the execution of agreed safety initiatives and strategies
- Provide ongoing coaching to supervisors, HSR’s and managers regarding Safety leadership, culture and upholding appropriate Safety standards in the workplace
- Provide insight and analysis on safety data and metrics
- Support line management to conduct quality timely incident investigations by monitoring adherence to policies and procedures
- Responsible for ensuring incidents are appropriately escalated and reported within Australia Post and with the relevant external party

**About you**

This position will suit someone who is able to pride themselves in building and maintaining strong relationships. We are seeking an individual who will respectively challenge our managers if their decision making does not align to our strategic safety direction.

**You’ll also need**
- Significant experience in a safety advisory role in a large organisation
- Significant experience within a large unionised workforce or industry
- Experience in the interpretation of safety legislation, policies and procedures
- Ability to clearly communicate complex concepts in a simple and effective manner
- Experience prioritising requests and incidents and escalating when required
