**About the Department for Correctional Services**

The Department employs approximately 2,000 staff and has responsibility for nine prisons and fifteen Community Correctional offices across the state. Our vision is for a safer community by protecting the public and reducing re-offending. We work towards this through the contribution of staff who are employed in a wide variety of fields, from correctional officers and teachers to social workers, psychologists and supervisors of court orders. **Duties**

The Team Leader is responsible for managing workloads, quality assurance and continuous improvement processes and for ensuring the provision of a high-quality service to the judicial system, Community Correctional Centres, and other relevant stakeholders.

The incumbent is responsible for providing leadership and workplace professional supervision to all staff within the Courts Unit, and promoting training, performance development and service excellence. The Team Leader will provide a high-quality service and promote Community Corrections positively and professionally to all staff and stakeholders, ensuring an innovative and strategic approach to the courts interface and service delivery. The Team Leader will contribute to operational planning and ensure that all services are integrated with other key areas across Community Corrections.

The Team Leader will ensure the provision of a high-quality assessment, advisory and report writing service to the courts and other relevant stakeholders.

**Special Conditions**
- Section 47 of the Public Sector Act 2009 applies in conjunction with other provisions of the act and other applicable industrial entitlements.
- The incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete a National Criminal History Check.
- A current South Australian Driver’s Licence is essential.
- A flexible approach to working hours is required.
- Some interstate and intrastate travel will be required which may necessitate overnight absences.

**Requirements**:
**AHP**: Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.

**PO**: Appropriate tertiary degree level qualifications in community services, sociology, criminology, justice, correctional practice, social sciences, human services, health, or related field.

**ASO**: Nil

**Remuneration**
AHP3 ($104,180 - $111,746 pa)
PO3 ($101,285 - $107,078 pa)
ASO6 ($98,478 - $104,165 pa)
