**About the role**

We’re looking for a **Test Analyst** who’s not only technically skilled but also great at connecting with users and translating complex needs into clear, actionable steps. In addition, you will:

- Work closely with our helpdesk and business users to solve problems, provide guidance, and offer real-time support.
- Write and maintain clear, practical test plans and standards to help us meet operational needs.
- Review acceptance criteria to make sure it’s clear, complete, and makes sense for everyone involved.
- Run manual tests, log outcomes, and track any issues using our collaborative defect management tools.
- Support business users during testing phases for bigger projects or system updates — making sure everything’s ready to go live.
- Offer specialist advice on data quality and helpdesk support tailored to the needs of our users.

**About you -**

We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running when it comes to testing and support. Ideally, you’ll have:

- Solid experience as a Test Analyst, with a strong understanding of testing processes and defect management.
- The ability to work closely with both business areas and technical teams, especially during user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Confidence in managing testing queries and ensuring clear communication between business users, Business Analysts, and Developers.
- Familiarity with writing and running SQL queries — Oracle experience is a plus.
- An understanding of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector is beneficial, but not essential.
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

**Essential requirements of the role**
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
- Demonstrable experience as a test analyst on ICT projects
