**ABOUT THE BRANCH**

The Productivity Improvement Branch aims to help agencies deliver their grants programs more efficiently and effectively through policies and frameworks.

The branch is responsible for developing and implementing whole-of-government policy advice on the Commonwealth Grants Rules and Guidelines (CGRGs), and has policy oversight of the whole-of-government grants administration arrangements. The team provides timely and accurate assistance and advice to the Government, entities and other stakeholders.

The branch also reviews New Policy Proposals and Cabinet Submissions that relate to grants, and prepares advice for the Finance Minister to release program guidelines. There are also a number of reform projects that the team is involved in, such as the development of whole-of-government tools and guidance to assist entities with improving grants administration.

We’re looking for team members who want to work in a dynamic area to achieve policy outcomes through engaging with entities across the Commonwealth.

As an **APS6 Policy Officer**, you will:

- Support the Assistant Director with strategic stakeholder liaison, including:

- Interpreting legislation to develop and provide policy advice to entities
- Reviewing grants proposals and providing advice to internal and external stakeholders
- Draft policy briefings and documents for Ministers, Executives, stakeholder agencies and other governance bodies
- Represent Finance at departmental forums.

As an
**APS5 Policy Officer**, you will:

- Assist the branch to provide policy advice to entities through:

- Interpreting legislation
- Reviewing grants proposals
- Assist with the coordination of policy briefings and documents for Ministers, Executives, stakeholder agencies and other governance bodies.
- Manage Ministerial reporting.
