About the Role

The role of Information and Communications Officer supports the whole Commission and is essential to sustain our core function of completing law reform inquiries for delivery to the Attorney-General. Using your in-depth knowledge of legal databases and library operations, you will assist our legal researchers, policy officers and report writers, and contribute to the editing and proofing of publications, especially footnotes and bibliographies. You will also assist with maintaining the Commission's social media presence. Please briefly summarise your suitability for the role referring to the key selection criteria for this position.

About you
- In-depth knowledge of legal research databases and experience of using them.
- Experience responding to legal information requests in a timely manner.
- Experience delivering legal research training.
- Experience using citation software, preferably Zotero, for large reports.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including developing and maintaining successful relationships with colleagues and others such as the Victorian Government Library Service, external service providers and other stakeholders.
- Experience managing a library collection, including regular evaluation and monitoring of subscription services.
- Strong time management and organisational abilities.
- Relevant tertiary qualification(s) and membership (or eligibility for) Associate (professional) membership of the Australian Library Information Association.
