Part of our Investments leadership team, you will report to the Head of Investment Strategy and Asset Allocation. As a senior leader you will be responsible for managing an experienced team of investment professionals, overseeing and conducting fundamental and quantitative research on investment markets and the modelling and design and of Rest’s investment portfolios to ensure the achievement of Member objectives.
- Working closely with the Head of Investment Strategy and Asset Allocation, the role will also be responsible for the recommendation, oversight, and risk management of active positioning of asset allocations across our Structured Options and for leading strategic research initiatives.**Key Responsibilities Include**:

- Responsible for leading market analysis, using both fundamental and quantitative inputs, to drive active asset allocation decisions, the generation of high conviction investment ideas and the development of market dashboards
- Contribute to the enhancement of good governance to ensure portfolios are invested to reflect investment strategy views and active risk exposures are consistent with meeting return and regulatory risk objectives
- Responsible for overseeing the Liquidity management function to support cashflows across portfolios
- Engage with key strategic partners in the development of internal Capital Market Assumptions for Rest’s range of listed and alternative asset classes
- Working closely with the Head of Investment Strategy and Asset Allocation, take a leading role in design enhancements for Rest’s range of Structured Options including Strategic Asset Allocation recommendations, the integration of new asset classes and tail risk hedging
- Play a leading role in the integration and implementation of ESG considerations across portfolios
- Assist with the implementation of investment reporting platforms and make recommendations on the use of data and technology in our portfolio management and investment decision-making processes
- Active participation in a variety of Management investment governance sub-committees with material influence at the Asset Allocation sub-committee.
- Work closely with the Head of Investment Strategy and Asset Allocation in the drafting, preparation and presentation of a range of committee papers
- Prepare and present independent research findings for internal stakeholders and committees
- Oversee the development of a strategic approach to “whole of portfolio” value add from major counterparty relationships

**About You**:

- Proven knowledge, expertise and understanding of whole of portfolio construction and the analysis of investment markets with demonstrated passion for investing
- Deep experience with the setting of portfolio risk budgets and frameworks for dynamic asset allocation
- Application of asset allocation optimisation techniques and quantitative risk modelling
- 15+ years working in investment management, financial services, or superannuation industry
- Demonstrated leadership of investment teams
- Degree in Finance / Economics or other related fields
- CFA, CAIA or other post-graduate achievements are highly desirable
