**Position Information**:
Wiley Park Girls High School (WPGHS) is a comprehensive girl's high school in South Western Sydney with 553 students (504 in mainstream classes and 49 in Support Unit classes). We have a proud history of supporting a diverse student population where 'Diversity Strengthens Learning' and caters for the needs of all students, 96% of whom identify as being from a language background other than English, including refugee students. WPGHS has a Support Unit of 5 classes, including classes specialising in students with diagnosis of Intellectually Moderate disability (IO), Intellectually Mild disability (IM), and Autism. The collaborative staff are passionate educators with diverse academic backgrounds, cultures, experiences, and skills. The Australian Professional Standards and School Excellence Framework are reference points for whole school improvement and are identified in whole school professional learning agendas and within individual Professional Development Plans, ensuring a culture of continuous improvement for every student, every teacher and every leader. WPGHS delivers established wellbeing and engagement systems to support the aspirations and high expectations for student learning and engagement. The Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L) framework creates an effective environment for learning. Student wellbeing as the foundation for successful learning is further supported by: an outstanding Wellbeing Team, a highly skilled Learning and Support Team and EAL/D Team, an emerging Engagement Team and expert student support via school psychologists, Student Support Officer and external agency links such as Fusion and Barnados. In addition, student peer relations are enhanced through the school's resilience team, while diversity is acknowledged and celebrated with an extensive refugee program, Community Liaison Officer support and a variety of culturally inclusive co-curricular programs.

**Selection Criteria**:
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,

1. Approval to teach a variety of HSIE courses from Years 7 -12 and willingness to teach Years 7 - 10 Geography.

2. Demonstrated capacity to lead a faculty and build their capacity to deliver high quality, evidence-informed and inclusive teaching and learning programs that build engagement, support high expectations and meet the individual needs of students.

3. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to strengthen a team culture, build positive relationships and promote wellbeing across the school community.

4. Proven ability to efficiently manage school systems and processes, to ensure adherence to policy requirements, continuous school improvement and the achievement of school priorities.

5. Ability to be a dynamic member of the executive leadership team and lead initiatives that address whole school strategic directions.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice

2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs

3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams

4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents

5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning

6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
