**Position Information**:

Year 11 and 12 participate in a combined senior curriculum. The school is strongly supported by a range of external stakeholders and forms an important part of our wider community. Our school is very proud of its strong connections with our Aboriginal students and families, with 5% of our students identifying as ATSI. Our school also has an off-campus support unit located at Glenbrook (The Glenbrook Centre) comprised of 3 ED classes.

**Selection Criteria**:
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
- Lead staff, at a faculty and whole school level, in developing a culture of high expectations for all students.
- Demonstrated capacity to lead quality teaching and learning in the Human Society and its Environment faculty to enhance opportunities and achievements for all students.
- A visible leader with the demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively as part of the school executive team to drive whole-school initiatives and targets that have a sustained impact on improved student** **outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire, develop and lead staff at all stages of their career through professional learning and reflective teaching practice to improve learning outcomes for students.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice

2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs

3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams

4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents

5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning

6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
