**Agency Overview**
The System Monitoring & Insights (SMI) team support units/branches across the Ministry of Health to make evidence-based decisions regarding planning, innovation and policy. The team work collaboratively with policy owners and system managers to plan, design and execute regular reporting and analysis that informs planning, monitoring and evaluation of priority programs and operations across NSW Health.

**About this role**
The System Monitoring and Insights unit provide high-quality outcome monitoring, reliable and relevant data, and insights that enable evidence-based decision making to improve service delivery, provider and patient experience, and patient health outcomes in NSW. A key program is the Lumos program which is a pioneering initiative linking data across primary, ambulatory and acute care creating a state-wide data collection.

The Project Officer role will support System Monitoring and Insights through a range of administrative and project management support including advice on the development and implementation of projects with particular focus on supporting the Lumos program. This will include project planning, managing recruitment processes, financial monitoring, liaising with stakeholders and managing Lumos data access processes.

**Selection Criteria**
- Demonstrated understanding and working knowledge of the NSW Health system and policy priorities, or capability to quickly develop a working knowledge of the health system.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or demonstrated equivalent relevant industry experience.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in project management including scheduling deliverables, planning resources and budget management.
- Sound problem-solving skills and forward thinking approach including the ability to analyse and interpret information, use strong written communication to prepare correspondence/reports, deal with challenges creatively and achieve business focused solutions.
- Demonstrated organisational skills and experience working in a high volume and demanding professional environment with a capacity to prioritise competing demands and achieve results with a customer focused approach.
- High level verbal and written communications, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with staff at various levels and external stakeholders to establish collaborative relationships.
- Ability to respond effectively to merging and unforseen issues.
