UGL's Utilities Division is seeking an experienced and motivated Proposals Manager to join the pre-contracts team where you will work on projects within the power and water infrastructure sectors. In this role, you will be responsible for proactively managing and submitting high-quality proposals for our major project utilities tenders.

**What will a day in this role look like**:
Reporting to the Pre-Contracts Manager, The Proposals Manager is responsible for the implementation, managing and monitoring of the tendering process for new business opportunities within the Utilities Business delivering high quality tender outputs which aligns with UGL Utilities business strategy. The role can be based in either Sydney or Brisbane.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

- Leading the Pre-Contracts team and shaping work winning strategies to achieve revenue, margin and win rate targets.
- Accountable for building and leading high performing culture throughout the opportunity and bid management lifecycle by managing the bid and tendering processes rigorously, undertaking early evaluation and qualification of business opportunities, improving qualification of leads through intelligent analysis of clients and understanding financial and commercial risk.
- Ensure that all parts of each submission are interconnected with robust and substantiated strategic elements
- Identify Business opportunities, enroll the necessary people within UGL, develop and execute a strategy to realize the opportunity

This role suits a self-motivated, committed leader who is enthusiastic and ambitious in setting and completing key targets. Prior qualifications, experience and skills in the following are key to your success:

- Formal qualifications in engineering, business or project management with experience in tendering, business development, procurement, estimating, risk and project controls
- Strong knowledge of power, water and the energy sectors or the proven ability to rapidly learn new sectors
- Exceptional influencing and communication skills including demonstrated proposal writing expertise, facilitation and presentations
- Acute awareness of market influences and how to strategically respond when tendering, which includes macro-economic, social and geopolitical risk
