About the Role
As a Solution Designer you will guide and qualify the architectural decisions, constraints and patterns adopted by EDAE platform teams and our customers. The solutions you consult on will vary across our Data deployments on Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and on-premises technologies. You will ensure reusability and scalability of solutions across the organisation. You will assess and design solution options and provide support to EDAE platform teams and customers. You will inspire others by your sense of purpose and your continual building of mastery.

What will your day look like?
Work closely with internal customers to design complex and high impact data platform solutions which meet ANZ design and security standards.
Develop and support the use of architecture artefacts including guardrails, patterns, principles, reference models. Present these designs for approval at relevant forums.
Work closely with the Data Platform team and the Data Customer Success Lead to build Architecture roadmap and patterns for CDIS data platforms and services.
Create and maintain endorsed, re-usable designs for customers to leverage.
Drive innovation within the Cloud Adoption & Delivery team.
Provide thought leadership as a senior Architect to the chapter, Architect team, CDIS and Technology. This may include contributing to enterprise standards and practices around the design of new technologies.
Work closely as an extended part of the Bank’s Chief Technology Officer’s team, with regular contact into other parts of platform engineering and architecture.
Work on large strategic initiatives (Accelerated Engineering, Enterprise Data Program) to ensure CDIS & Technology’s strategic goals and OKRs are achieved.
Understand business strategy and architecture needs, define innovative & sustainable designs, that are aligned to standards, security, risk profile and best practices
What will you bring?
Proficient in modern enterprise data architecture, including Data Lakes, Warehouses, Integration, and Consumption.
Extensive experience in data modernization, cloud migration, and data transformation programs.
Competent in documenting designs and defending solutions in governance forums.
Skilled in leading cloud architecture in agile, DevOps, and SRE environments to successful outcomes.
Adept at managing diverse stakeholder expectations and aligning tasks with strategic objectives.
Capable of operating at both enterprise and solution levels within the data domain.
Strong problem-solving skills for architecting high-performance data solutions.
Knowledgeable in cloud networking, security, IAM, and high-availability architectures.
Collaborates and adapts, integrating diverse ideas into pragmatic solutions.
Proficient in translating business needs into strategic technological plans.
Strategic thinker capable of understanding a vision, defining the target state, and inspiring others towards a common goal.
