**The Role**
Work at the heart of a cutting-edge enterprise that is fast tracking the delivery of the Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) Enterprise in Australia. Working on this multi-billion dollar Australian Government initiative, APS6 Industry Engagement Officers will be accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex industry engagement and program management work within an integrated workforce. They will be accountable to ensure they have knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.
Industry Engagement Officers will have considerable level of stakeholder engagement and will liaise with stakeholders in relation to complex issues. They will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders’ needs and expectations to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes. They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development. They will also be required to represent GWEO in both inter-departmental and defence industry forums and possess strong communication skills in relation to representative duties.
**About our Team**
In 2021, the Government announced the acceleration of a Sovereign Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) Enterprise. The Enterprise will enhance Australia’s self-reliance and supply chain resilience and develop a sovereign guided weapons manufacturing capability.
The Enterprise is a directorate in Defence’s Explosive Materiel Branch (EMB) in the Capability Acquisition Sustainment Group (CASG). EMB partners with industry to acquire and sustain a multi-billion-dollar portfolio of explosive ordnance capability to support the Australian Defence Force.
This team will work collaboratively and achieve results to a very high standard. The team will grow quickly in the coming months and be made up of a dynamic and flexible Australian Public Sector, Australian Defence Force and contractor workforce from the private sector.
- Build and sustain stakeholder engagement with key internal and industry players by communicating with influence and negotiating persuasively to support the GWEO Enterprise.
- Cultivate productive working relationships for engagement by facilitating cooperation, building partnerships and guiding relations for the Enterprise.
- Develop and evaluate stakeholder engagement strategies by analysing project performance and resolving issues.
