**What you'll be doing**
The primary purpose of this role is to ensure complete and accurate input of clinical cancer data to the NSW Cancer Institute, and support the Senior Cancer Information Manager to provide a solid information platform for the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District Cancer Service.
The role involves reviewing cancer clinical registrations to ensure all incidences of cancer are complete, accurate, timely and up to date for patient courses of cancer treatment and reporting.
The Cancer Information Manager will work with each cancer treatment service and tumour group to enhance the quality and consistency of clinical staging and other cancer information, and contributes to the implementation of coding policies and procedures.
The Cancer Information Manager will have relevant data management skills, and be able to navigate different electronic record management systems.
They will be task orientated and able to work autonomously and manage their own workload under the supervision of the Senior Cancer Information Manager.
The Cancer Information Manager will be able to quality assure their own data entry work and ensure they input high quality and accurate information in the clinical cancer registry.

**Talent Pool**

This role is a **Category A **role. Preferred applicants will be reviewed for compliance and required to maintain compliance with the screening, assessment and vaccination requirements, relevant to your position, as outlined in NSW Health policy directive on Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases.
**Selection Criteria**
- Qualifications or work experience in a relevant area which includes health information management, health informatics, clinical coding, nursing oncology, allied health, anatomy and pathology.
- Understanding principles of quality assurance and demonstrated commitment to processes used to monitor and enhance the quality and completeness of cancer notification.
- Demonstrated ability to ensure attention to detail when handling multiple tasks with conflicting timelines and deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team whilst maintaining confidentiality and privacy.
