The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for Cyber Security Analysts within the Cyber Security Operations Centre, Cyber Security Branch.

The Cyber Security Analyst role will play an integral part in contributing to business operations, which include the detection, identification, analysis, communication, containment, and remediation of cyber security incidents. This position will support and maintain the systems and processes that provide these capabilities.

The Parliament of Australia is the legislative branch of the government of Australia. DPS Information Services Division is responsible for the effective and secure operation of Parliament House's digital network and computing environment, which underpins the operation of the Australian Parliament. Recent events demonstrate the increasing prevalence of malicious cyber activity targeted at the political and democratic process in several countries.

In support of the Australian Parliament, we regularly defend against, and prepare for, a range of cyber threats, including hacktivism, cybercrimes, cyber-attacks, cyber espionage and cyber warfare. To bolster our cyber capability, DPS is seeking talented and motivated individuals to join our Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC) to protect this critical national institution. As a member of a small team, you will work to uphold the integrity of Parliament House's digital network and computing environment, and work collaboratively with a range of domestic cyber agencies and international partners.

The Cyber Security Operations team will work with you to build your skills and knowledge to enhance your cyber capability. Ongoing training and mentoring will provide you the opportunity to hone new skills and assist in continuously developing our diverse workforce.

- A level of prior cyber security skill, experience and a related qualification is desirable.
- The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance relevant to the position level and it's responsibilities.

**Parliamentary Service Level 4 Duty Statement**:
The key skills and experience of a PSL4 Cyber Security Analyst include:

- Knowledge of networks/network protocols, operating systems, and cloud services
- Familiarity with IT Service Management tools and processes (ITIL, COBIT, etc.)
- Willingness to undertake training to develop analytical skills as required by the CSOC
- Ability to work in an operational, high tempo team, and demonstrate teamwork
- Effective written and verbal communication skills

Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the PSL4 classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Receive and analyse cyber security alerts from various sources within the enterprise and determine causes of such alerts.

2. Track and document cyber security incidents from initial detection through final resolution.

3. Communicate technical findings and provide recommendations for remediation of cyber security issues.

4. Undertake training from basic to intermediate skills in conducting investigations and analysis.

**Parliamentary Service Level 5 Duty Statement**:
The key skills and experience of a PSL5 Cyber Security Analyst include:

- Prior experience with incident analysis, investigations, and evidence handling methodologies.
- Familiarity with IT Service Management tools and processes (ITIL, COBIT, etc.).
- Knowledge of cyber security and information security frameworks such as ISM, PSPF, NIST, etc.
- Knowledge and experience with networks/network protocols, operating systems, and cloud services.
- Experience with security operations tools (logging, packet capture, SIEM, SOAR, etc.).
- Ability to work in an operational, high tempo team, and demonstrate teamwork.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
