**About the Role**

An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen in the HOPE programme for a mental health clinician to cover a period of parental leave for 12 months, 64 hours per fortnight based in Ballarat. The successful applicant will join a multidisciplinary team consisting of senior clinicians, psychosocial support coordinators (PSC), and a nurse practitioner.

The Hospital Outreach Post-Suicidal Engagement programme provides support to participants who have presented to the service with a suicidal crisis in the context of psychosocial stressors. The participants are supported for up to 12 weeks and are allocated a psychosocial support coordinator to assist them in addressing the stressors that led to their suicidal crisis.

**Key Responsibilities**

Review new referrals- Complete clinician reviews Support PSC’s Complete suicide specific assessment and safety planning**Skills & Experience**

National registration with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) to work as a Mental Health Professional (i.e. Psychologist, Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or Aboriginal Health Worker) or member of Australian Association of Social Work Association (AASW) as a Social Worker.- Demonstrated clinical experience in the assessment & treatment of consumers who have attempted suicide; or who are presenting in a suicidal crisis
. Understanding of contemporary trends and issues in the provision of clinical and non-clinical interventions to address risk factors that may contribute to suicide risk
. Demonstrated experience in community liaison and ability to consult with a broad range of Primary Health Professionals
. Commitment to a client-centred, family/carer inclusive, recovery-oriented model of care

Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Demonstrates highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with people receiving service, families/carers, significant others, colleagues and other health and welfare service providers
