**Role**:

- The main objective of the International Student Co-ordinator role is to monitor the operations of the International Students Program and establish a solid working relationship with the personnel involved
- students, teachers, parents, agents, home stay providers, third party accommodation and welfare providers and the International Education Division (IED) of the Department of Education (DE). The program should provide the best possible educational outcomes and experience for overseas students including the social and welfare requirements of the students.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensuring compliance with the Quality Standards of the International Education Division of DE. This includes preparation for audits every four years
- Completion of administrative tasks (e.g. enrolment, monitoring, reporting, record keeping) required to implement and maintain the International Students Program
- Contribution to a marketing plan including onshore agent visits and overseas promotional tours, and its implementation, including maintaining and developing marketing materials
- Liaison with the IED and DE as required and necessary, e.g. enrolments, finances, arrivals, welfare, publicity
- Providing airport arrival support and transfer to homestay
- Arranging and monitoring homestay placements for students
- Liaison with and providing relevant information to teachers and position of responsibility holders regarding overseas full fee-paying students
- Liaison with position of responsibility holders and Principal Team, regarding welfare and management of students
- Liaison with support workers, agencies and other providers as needed (e.g. welfare, careers and pathways, administrative staff, interpreters, translators, intensive English program providers and providers of additional languages)
- Maintaining a list of home-stay families and ensure that all obligations in this area are met, especially current Working with Children Checks and scheduled home visits
- Monitoring and advising on the collection of money for payment to homestays and its disbursement
- Ensuring that all international students are aware of the College Code of Conduct and other related policies regarding student visas and enrolment in a Victorian Government School, and make every endeavour to ensure their compliance
- Liaising with homestay providers, where necessary, regarding the welfare of students
- Establishing and maintaining contact with parents of students and keep them informed of their child¿s progress and welfare, and of the international program
- Encourage international students to become part of the college co-curricular programs
- Developing and implementing strategies that will improve student learning outcomes for the international students at the college
- Identifying and promoting outstanding academic and other achievements in the international program
- Providing regular reports to the Principal Team and College Council regarding the program
- Ensuring knowledge of OH&S legislation and privacy laws relevant to schools and ensure appropriate actions are undertaken
- Perform other ad hoc tasks as requested by the Assistant Principal.
