**About the role**

The Librarian at Ikon plays a pivotal role in curating and managing digital library collections while collaborating with stakeholders to deliver top-notch library services across all client groups.

This role involves working closely with academic and product teams to ensure up-to-date learning resources and readings. Additionally, managing third-party library vendors and providing training and support to academic staff and students are essential responsibilities.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Digital Library Management:_
- Acquire, organize, and maintain digital library collections to ensure accessibility and relevance.
- Oversee third-party library services and ebook vendors to meet agreed service standards.
- Database Assistance:_
- Provide support to academic staff and students with database searches for research purposes.
- Training Development and Delivery:_
- Develop and deliver training sessions, workshops, and one-on-one support for academic staff and students on utilizing library resources effectively for learning and research.
- Access Maintenance:_
- Maintain academic staff and student access to journal databases and digital textbooks.
- Cataloguing Systems Maintenance:_
- Ensure the accuracy and accessibility of learning resources by maintaining library cataloguing systems and databases.
- Issue Resolution:_
- Troubleshoot functionality and access issues for all learning resources in consultation with third-party vendors.

**Team Management**:

- Leadership and Recruitment:_
- Lead and manage the team, including recruitment, performance appraisal, and goal-setting.
- Mentoring and Coaching:_
- Provide mentoring and coaching support for team members to foster their professional development.
- Performance Reviews:_
- Conduct annual performance reviews and set clear objectives for all reporting team members.

**Education, Experience and Skills**
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, preferably postgraduate, and eligibility for Australian Library and Information Association associate membership
- Minimum three years' experience in a similar role within higher education
- Experience managing teams and proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Office
- Strong background in library science, digital assets, and technology
- Skilled in delivering workshops and training for diverse audiences
- Capable of negotiating and managing electronic resource licenses and contracts
- Understanding of regulatory framework within education sector
