Description:
Purpose
The WHS Monitoring & Support Officer will work closely and cohesively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that Contractual and Legal Obligations are adhered to and maintained. To lead and undertake WHS assurance activity across Service Partners Organisation’s with the purpose of identifying and mitigating risks to CoAct and our Certifications.
Some of the responsibilities include:
Maintain system documentation and records including policies, procedures, standard operating procedures, forms, registers, templates, etc.
Use a proactive approach to ensure Program sites always remain compliant - i.e. Reminders for expiry of test records, review of records, etc.
Monitor effectiveness of WHS performance - i.e. compliance with regulations, standards and internal policy and procedures.
Prepare and present reports that reflect assurance activity results.
Collect and review documentary evidence for external assurance activities.
Assist auditors with external audits.
Review and communicate legislation changes.
Ensure compliant incident reporting.
Provide advice with regards to accidents, incidents, etc.
Review Risk Assessments, ensuring customers are placed in safe work-like activities.
Develop strong relationships with stakeholders including Department, Service partners & third parties.
Maintain strong internal relationships with CoAct staff to enable the effective operation of Programs and initiatives.
Integrate culture into their work environments and tailor care to meet colleagues, business partners and customers social, cultural, and linguistic needs.
Skills and Experiences:
Personal Attributes
Strong attention to detail and good report writing skills.
Ability to work autonomously.
Confident working with external auditors and calling regulator for advice.
Preparedness and ability to undertake interstate travel as required.
Reside in Brisbane / Sunshine Coast / Gold Coast with expectation of attending head office, when required - i.e. audits.
Required Experience
Successful implementation or maintenance of a WHS Management System.
Proven experience in driving strong relationships with multiple stakeholders at once, proactively engaging with them to ensure WHS requirements are understood and met.
- Familiar with risks associated with a wide variety of working environments - i.e. office, trades, landscaping, etc.
Desirable Experience
Previous experience with ISO9001 or National Standards for Disability Services.
Knowledge of WHS requirements for multiple Australian jurisdictions.
Demonstrated experience in conducting risk assessments across a wide range of working environments.
