**Purchasing Manager - Neerabup, WA** Wesbeam Pty Ltd is an Australian-owned and operated national market leader in timber processing. Currently we are seeking a dedicated and dynamic **Purchasing Manager** to join our team. You will be accountable for procurement activities to support all manufacturing operations, workshop consumables and stock management. This is a pivotal role within the company demanding timely management of the purchasing process ensuring a timely flow of supply to meet production demands. **Your duties will include**: - Recommend sources of supply of goods, materials, and services. - Obtain quotations that comply to specifications requested from authorised staff or departments. - Monitor delivery requirements to conform to the company's schedules and plans. - Purchase materials, equipment and / or supplies, at the best price in relation to quality, quantity and delivery requirements. - Compile and complete the administration of records and files for efficient operation whilst working closely with the finance and administration department. - Analyse spend, working closely with operations and finance to identify leakage areas. - Monitor purchase order backlog and expedite deliveries as needed. - Monitor and control the receipt, distribution and consumption of goods and services within the stores, in order to manage and oversee the store operation. - Oversee and assist when necessary with the process of accepting and unpacking deliveries, unloading vehicles using a forklift, and sorting and checking goods received for quality, type or size as necessary. - Ensure the maintenance of stocks at agreed levels within SAP. - Ensure all purchasing, receipting and movements of stores parts and stock levels are maintained using the computerised stores inventory management system SAP. - Analyse inventory levels, ensuring optimal inventory levels to meet delivery expectations and company financial targets. - Review excess & obsolete stock. - Organise and participates in stores quarterly stock takes. - Work closely with the GM Manufacturing and Finance department to facilitate the negotiation of pricing terms and conditions for new suppliers and supply contracts. - Work in conjunction with production and dispatch supervisors as appropriate. - Use automated tracking systems for freight. **To be successful in this role, you will possess**: - A minimum of five years’ experience in a purchasing role. - Qualifications in Procurement/Contracts advantageous - Working knowledge of SAP highly desirable but not essential. - Intermediate skills with the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). - Proven experience in a Purchasing/Procurement Role preferably in manufacturing. - Sound knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating, and liaising with vendors). - Understanding of supply chain procedures. - Sound analytical skills. - Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral. - Strong negotiation skills. - Good interpersonal skills with people at all levels. - Effective organisation and planning skills. - A conscientious, self-motivated and proactive work ethic. - Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities. - Ability to work without supervision. - Ability to handle a demanding and ever-changing environment. - Strong team player keen to assist in all areas as required. **Essential Requirements**: - Proof of Australian Working Rights - Current Australian Driver’s Licence - National Police Clearance (>6months old) - Ability to pass a pre-employment medical clearance with the Company’s provider At Wesbeam, we value diversity and inclusion.
