Reconsiderations Officer

Who are we?
QLeave was established so that workers in industries that aren't structured to provide continuity of employment, will have the opportunity to take long service leave. Portable long service leave means that workers will accrue long service leave within an industry even when they change employers. These schemes are available to workers in building and construction, contract cleaning and community services industries. QLeave administers the schemes - collecting levies, investing the funds, registering workers and the service they've performed and making leave payments. The requirements that need to be met by employers, workers and levy payers are set out in legislation.
Primarily, you will
- maintain reconsideration/internal review register from commencement to final decision
- prepare memos containing a chronology of information and information gathered from other sources to support the recommendation/s and letters about the matter to the decision maker
- ensure that parties involved in a reconsideration/internal review matter have received natural justice throughout the process and are made aware of their appeal rights and applicable timeframe in writing
- identify learnings and business improvements to improve administrative decision making processes
- escalate any complaints received about a reconsideration/internal review matter to the Manager Reconsiderations
- ensure relevant documentation is registered in the records management system on the relevant employer or worker's file, and in a reconsiderations folder.

- Have well developed written skills that assist in the production of high quality memorandums and draft outcome letters
- Have strong interpersonal skills and contribute to the team achieving outcomes and enhancing relationships with other organisational teams

There are no mandatory qualifications for this role. Practical experience in working within a legislative environment or qualifications in compliance/investigations/legal will be favourably regarded.
