You’ll get paid to travel and gain invaluable life and work experience, while making friendships that could last a lifetime.

One you complete your initial military training, you’ll grow your skills and expertise in one of the following roles:

- **Artillery Operator** where you’ll operate artillery weapons and provide vital artillery support to Army combat operations, or
- **Combat Engineer** where you’ll learn about military field engineering and gain skills in bridge-building, minefield clearance, field defence construction and demolition.

**Life in the Army Gap Year Program**:
Action, adventure, exciting career opportunities and amazing mateship - the Army Gap Year Program is a one-year commitment that takes you out of the office and into barracks, training exercises and the field itself.

There’s also the unique sense of accomplishment and pride that comes from serving your country and providing support to communities in need, both here and overseas. Whether you decide to extend into a longer-term role in the Army, or not, you’ll get the chance to see if it’s a good fit for you.

Along with the highly purposeful work, you’ll be working in a supportive environment alongside highly skilled professionals to help guide you throughout the whole program.
