**Your new company**
A fantastic opportunity for undergraduate students currently studying in the GIS, Planning or Architecture space to get direct exposure to working in local government. This reputable council based within central Sydney and is currently working on an extensive GIS related five-yearly data collection project. This LGA has an impressive council culture, and it is an exciting time to join this thriving community.

**Your new role**
The main purpose of this role is to liaise with businesses across the Local Government Area. You will conduct premises reviews, collect relevant data and keep track of progress which will then be returned to GIS staff for validation and data entry purposes. All required training will be provided prior to start date. Previous field surveyors have found it a fantastic way to get their first bit of degree related experience.

**What you'll need to succeed**
Great communication skills and the ability to work independently and efficiently when speaking with business owners and providing clear advice. Strong time management skills and willingness to work as part of a team. You will need to be currently undertaking a relevant degree in the GIS, Planning, or Architecture space. You will be involved in discussions with the public therefore you must be able to communicate effectively and liaise directly with supervisors within the council.

**What you'll get in return**
You will be competitively reimbursed for your work getting direct exposure working in the local government space as well as a 6-month contract working 4-days each week (Monday - Friday).
