Sydney- Investment Banking- PermanentDue to the growth in our client’s portfolio, an exciting opportunity has come about for a** Bank Guarantees Officer** to join this leading global corporate bank on a permanent basis.

Experience within Bank Guarantees and/or corporate loans operations is required to be considered for this role.

The Guarantee Officer will play a vital role in managing Guarantees/SBLCs issuances, and making sure Guarantees/SBLCs are issued in accordance with Group policies, UCP Rules, Checklists and SOPs.

**Responsibilities**:

- Undertake responsibility for reviewing, drafting, and execution of Demand Guarantees, Ensure potential risks relating to guarantee wordings are either accepted by Legal/Business, or mitigated by revision, making sure all ambiguities and contradictions are addressed.
- Minimise Operational incident by performing stringent control checks on non-standard or unusual issuance requests. Ensure guarantees are issued in accordance with Group policies, UCP Rules, Checklists and SOPs.
- Ensure guarantee commissions are booked accurately and collected within agreed time lines.
- Acknowledge and respond to enquiries from external clients and internal stakeholders promptly while demonstrating higher standards of client service.
- Identify Operational processing improvement opportunities; generate ideas and solutions that can be productive during day-to-day work handlings.

**Required Experience**:

- 5 + years’ relevant experience in similar Institutional Banking Operations role - Trade Finance, Bank Guarantee’s, Supply Chain Finance etc
- Proven track records working in an Operational area handling Bank guarantees

**Technical Experience required**:

- Demonstrated knowledge of Uniform Rules for Demand Guarantees (URDG758) & ISP98, and how a guarantee should be structured.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Australian and global banking regulatory and compliance environments
- Experience of controls to manage Operational Risks
