**About the opportunity**:
The Department for Energy and Mining (DEM) is seeking an experienced Manager, Business Services to lead the delivery of high-quality, customer-focused business support services in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a diverse and high performing team to deliver business support services across HR, finance, contract management, procurement, travel, and customer support.
- Foster collaboration, flexibility, and continuous improvement by partnering with the business to ensure quality, productivity, and efficiency.
- Build strong, trusting partnerships across all levels in the organisation to support the achievement of operational and strategic goals.
- Lead and influence business improvements while managing stakeholder expectations in a climate of continual change.
About You:
- Extensive experience managing operational or business services functions across multiple areas.
- Proven leadership and interpersonal skills, with a focus on team development and customer service.
- Demonstrated ability to drive efficiencies, manage change, and future-proof business services.

**Key Selection Criteria**:
- Demonstrated strong leadership and people management capabilities, with the ability to communicate, motivate and lead team members to be high performing.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust-based relationships, influence stakeholders, and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Understanding of legislation, policies and procedures governing financial and contract management, procurement, human resources, work health and safety and records management.
- Proven experience in being solution oriented and able to problem solve to improve quality, productivity, and efficiency.
**Qualifications**:
Desirable: Relevant degree qualifications in Business/Commerce or equivalent or post graduate management qualifications.
**Remuneration**:
ASO7 salary range $108,109 - $116,864 per annum + superannuation
Full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week
**Special Conditions**:
This is a contract/term vacancy up to February 2026.
