Disability Support Worker

**About the opportunity**

**Locations: Leumeah NSW**

**Shifts**:
**Monday - 11:30 - 3:30pm**

**Friday - 3:00 - 6:00pm**

**Saturday - 10:00 - 3:00pm**

**Job requires assisting in daily activities such as cooking, cleaning, meal prep, shopping, attending appointments, companionship, recreational activities, personal care**

Caura Pty Ltd has an exciting opportunity for Disability Support Workers to join our community support team working across Sydney & South East Sydney. Caura Pty Ltd offers a range of services under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). you will be providing support to participants both adults and young people with a disability.

**The positions offered**:
Contracted role offering a minimum 30 hours per fortnight.

**Key Responsibilities**:
As a Disability Support Worker, you will:

- Support clients to identify and achieve their goals; such as cooking, shopping, budgeting
- Support clients in SIL housing
- Support clients with personal care, and hygiene such a showing, dressing, eating, toileting
- Engaging clients in community access
- Collaborate with team members
- Build effective relationships with clients and their families and carers
- Implement routines and structures through positive role modelling

**Requirements**:

- Hold a current P2 license or an open license
- Current Police Check
- Working with children check
- Have a fully insured vehicle (comprehensive)
- NDIS Worker Module
- Manuel Handling
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Willing to travel across Western Sydney

**Skills & Experience**:
To be considered for this role you will have:

- Certificate III or IV in Disability, or equivalent accreditation in social science/community services
- Experience in disability care, aged care or home care. But not a requirement
- Meal preparation
- Feeding and preparation of texture modified foods and thickened drinks
- Literacy and writing skills
- Wheelchair and hoist experience
- Reliability
- Punctual
- Demonstrated understanding of person-centered care
- Demonstrated experience following behaviours and behaviour support plans
- Experience supporting participants from Aboriginal and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds would be advantageous

Pay: $35.00 - $38.00 per hour
