Teacher Role Requirements
Ÿ Recognised teacher education qualifications and NESA accreditation to teach in NSW schools.
Ÿ Ability and qualifications to teach Design & Technology.
At Chevalier College, teachers strategically work in teams to collaboratively plan, prepare, teach, assess and
evaluate student learning. As such, they are required to:
Ÿ support and assist the mission of Catholic education in the way of Jules Chevalier and the Missionaries
of the Sacred Heart (MSC).
Ÿ see themselves as learners and be committed to ongoing professional learning.
Ÿ work collaboratively with other teachers to design learning experiences where students exercise choice
to demonstrate knowledge and understanding.
Ÿ enhance social skills and nurture the growth of enterprise skills including learner agency, self-regulated
learning, critical thinking, creativity, communication and collaboration for each student.
Ÿ use summative data and formative data, including observations, annotations and work samples, to
inform ‘next steps’ for key learning outcomes.
Ÿ use digital technology as an enabler and accelerator for student and teacher learning.
Ÿ regularly provide students with feedback as part of the teaching and learning cycle.
Ÿ be open to growth and development through professional learning experiences which include
classroom observations, practice analysis conversations and input from Leaders of Learning.
Other
Ÿ Full-time, temporary teaching position for Terms 3 and 4, 2025.
Ÿ Salary and conditions will be as per the NSW Catholic Independent Schools (Teachers - Model B) Multi
- Enterprise Agreement 2023.
Ÿ The preferred applicant is required to undertake extracurricular responsibilities as part of the
employment arrangements at the College.
