**As a Philanthropic Leadership Giving Officer you will**:

- With enthusiasm, identify, qualify, and cultivate prospective donors to support Deakin’s strategic fundraising priorities.
- Conduct discovery meetings to assess donor interest and potential, referring to major gift officers when appropriate, and demonstrate your understanding of philanthropy
- Use data insights from Deakin ARMS and related systems to qualify and manage donor prospects.
- Be highly organised and maintain accurate and timely records of donor interactions in the Deakin Advancement CRM.
- Coordinate donor engagement efforts and collaborate with the donor experience team to ensure seamless stewardship.

**In a typical day, you will**:

- Analyse complex information, distil key issues, and communicate clear, logical solutions in simple terms.
- Prioritise tasks, evaluate progress, and select effective solutions while supporting and empowering your team.
- Champion and implement change, overcoming resistance and clearly communicating its purpose and benefits.
- Build strong relationships, seek and respond to feedback, and promote positive wellbeing across your team and stakeholders.

**To be successful, you’ll have**:

- Relevant degree with substantial experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven success in delivering small to medium scale fundraising programs and meeting financial targets, ideally but not essentially in Higher Education.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills, with experience in engaging donors and soliciting gifts.
- Excellent organisational, analytical, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Experience working across diverse teams in complex organisations and managing a broad portfolio of relationships.
