The role of the Assistant Director MHWS Governance is to support the Director MHWS Governance, and lead a team delivering high quality professional services to support the Division with ensuring good governance practices and arrangements are in place as well as providing support to the Executive with coordinating information requests and responses.

**Duties**
- Support the Director in the delivery of strategy functions, including business planning, reporting and public accountability;
- Support the Director in the delivery of executive support and governance functions, through leading the team with implementation and maintenance of governance processes and policies, including in internal and external audits, legal and policy conformance, risk management, privacy, feedback management, probity and other governance issues;
- Provide strong leadership to the team, including supervision, mentoring and coaching for direct reports, to effectively manage performance and encourage professional growth;
- Work collaboratively with other sections in the Division to provide expert and current advice on a range of governance issues and participate in several core activities and projects;
- Provide strategic information and advice to the Director Governance on emerging issues in strategy and governance; and
- Promote a culture of integrity, accountability and best practice.

A merit pool will be established that may be used to fill similar positions (ongoing/non-ongoing)within the next 18 months.
