**THE ROLE**

The Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (the department) is establishing a new service model that will support 10- and 11-year-old children engaging in high harm behaviours with complex needs who are at risk of future engagement with the justice system. The service will provide an intensive and coordinated response to these children and families targeted to addressing the underlying drivers of high harm behaviours.

The Statewide Coordinator is a key role in the service model, providing a central intake point for the service and determining eligibility, managing referral processes and monitoring service capacity. The position will also have line management responsibilities for a small team who will lead area based multi-agency safety planning for children at risk of high harm behaviours and contact with police.

**ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE**
- Manage organisational service delivery functions and provide specialist advice on service delivery. This will include managing intake function for the service provision of advice on referrals and eligibility, initial assessment of eligibility and needs, allocation to family service responses and facilitating referrals to other appropriate services where eligibility criteria are not met.
- Initiate and manage key relationships with internal and external contacts to gain commitment and deliver timely services, establish streamlined referral pathways to support timely service responses and maximise utilisation of available service capacity.
- Monitor and prepare reports at an authoritative level on referrals, service outputs and other key performance metrics, as well as any risks or issues relevant to service delivery or quality.
