Head of Stakeholder Relations
ING, Australia’s most recommended bank for the 3rd year running is looking for a **Head of Stakeholder Relations** who will be responsible for leading ING Australia’s efforts across external affairs (including government and industry engagement), public relations, internal communication, events and ING’s sustainability and community agenda.
This is an opportunity to define how our business engages externally and internally amongst existing and prospective employees, stakeholders & customers.
We’re a small team and ‘rolling the sleeves up’ is as important as thinking broadly about key strategic issues. Using your extensive Australian press, financial services industry & government body network you’ll be at ease jumping on the phone briefing a journalist on the wonderful work we’re doing or helping brainstorm an important employee event. In this highly visible local and global role you’ll be discussing and advising on key strategic issues with the local CEO, EXCO, and global Group stakeholders.
Our brand, reputation and tone of voice is something that sets us apart at ING. We are progressive, we like to do things differently and our down to earth and transparent nature is something that needs to continue to shine through our internal and external communications. Are you ready to make an impact on our business?
**What are you going to do? You will be**
- Building effective engagement and communication with senior media, industry and community stakeholders to influence effectively through established networks.
- Supporting our communications agenda in a planned manner, ensuring alignment across ING Australia and our broader customer and business agenda. Working closely with brand and marketing activity to ensuring consistency in messaging, tone, positioning.
- Partnering with the CEO, Head of Marketing & EXCO to ensure ING’s positioning is clear.
- Ensuring our people are informed, participating and engaged, leveraging our strong employer brand credentials to build internal pride and culture.
- Helping to position ING as a leader in the sustainability space and ensuring our sustainability agenda delivers on our promises and commitments. You’ll work with community partners to support and deliver meaningful partnership collaborations with the community and for our business.
- Leading a team of high performing professionals and providing them with key opportunities for growth and personal development.
**What are we looking for? Someone who has**
- An extensive Australian network to draw upon including key senior media contacts, industry and/or Government bodies
- Strong grasp of the Australian financial services landscape including policy and regulation.
- Exposure working with and influencing external industry bodies and government.
- Ideally 10-15 years of experience in Corporate Affairs/Stakeholder Relations, preferably focused on external affairs within the financial services arena.
- Proven leadership of high performing teams with the ability to respond quickly and effectively under time pressure.
- Understanding and practical experience in digital communication channels.
- The ability to find new and different ways to ensure our approach to Stakeholder Relations matches our growth profile and focus areas.
**About Us**
At ING, we want to make life simpler and more worthwhile - for everyone who banks with us, for the people who work with us, and the community at large, too.
When you come to work at ING, you’re joining a modern and progressive team where individuality isn’t just accepted, it’s encouraged. You’ll be surrounded by people who are friendly, inclusive and respectful, who want you to reach your potential. It’s one of the many reasons we’re proud to be an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality.
We give people the freedom to take risks, stay curious and think differently, and seek new and better ways to make things happen. We’re here to help you get ahead. And with our global network, there’s plenty of scope to take your career in new directions, perhaps even ones you’ve never considered.
Sound like the kind of place you’d feel at home? We’d love to hear from you.
(One last thing, ING operates a direct talent sourcing model. So no agency introductions, please.)
