**About The Opportunity**

We are currently seeking an experienced Operations Manager for our showerscreens and wardrobes division’s Yatala site. Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead the production, purchasing and maintenance teams (employees and contractors) in meeting Company standards and representing our brand with professionalism, quality, service and safety. Leading a team of 27 direct reports, you will manage and control the manufacturing operations of the business unit in line with the Group philosophy in order to deliver on our customer commitments and meet our quality, service and safety standards through the most efficient use of capital and resources.

Key responsibilities include:

- Drive Culture: Drive culture that is reflective of organisational values. Implement and maintain safe and supportive workplace culture through WHSMS, and drive continuous improvement culture.
- Operational Management: Actively contribute to the unit management strength and dynamics of the business unit to collectively deliver the broader tasks, goals, plans and projects.
- Production: Manage and control all manufacturing and warehousing activities and processes to ensure daily planned production requirements are actioned to meet our customer commitments (DIFOT), with most efficient (low cost/lean) use of capital and resources (plant, equipment, direct labour & material costs), to agreed standards and targets (quality, productivity, service).
- Purchasing and Procurement: Manage and control the purchasing function to ensure all daily and cycle procurement requirements are actioned to meet our customer commitments, with a focus on just in time supply to maintain minimum stock levels and in accordance with company policy and negotiated terms and conditions.
- Inventory and Control Management: Ensure inventory is effectively managed, monitored and controlled as per the business plan, at a minimum to cover supplier risk, yet also service our customers’ requirements, thereby deliver on the unit working capital targets.
- Logistics: Manage and control the logistics operations to deliver our customer commitments (DIFOT), with a focus on high quality and service (reworks, warranty, professionalism), through the most efficient use of our resources (cartage, installation and freight costs).
- Plant Maintenance: Manage, control and execute the plant maintenance plan and resources to support optimal production efficiencies at optimal cost.
- People Management: Lead teams to effectively contribute to the organisation goals, standards and desired culture.
- Service and Quality: Drive a service and quality culture, managing the performance of operations to meet company quality and service standards:

- Management of Environmental Stewardship: Implement and maintain Company environmental management systems (EMS) that will enable efficient use of resources, reduce waste and minimise the impact on the environment.

**About You**

You will be an experienced manufacturing Operations Manager with demonstrable experience in implementing LEAN concepts and process improvement. You will have proven people leadership and stakeholder management skills and a commitment to safety.

You will also have:

- Proven experience leading, organising, planning and controlling unit operations to achieve business goals, objectives and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
- A strategic focus, recognising opportunities and delivering outcomes.
- Experience in high volume, made to order products and exposure to fit and install markets.
- Proven experience in manufacturing operations: lean manufacturing, capacity planning, MRP driven procurement -purchasing-inventory management, logistics, and installations.
- An understanding of building process and industry knowledge.
- MRP System and Process Knowledge - manufacturing process and systems knowledge - bills of materials, raw materials, assemblies, production processes, capacity planning.
- Knowledge of purchasing and procurement techniques, JIT, optimal inventory management methods, minimum reorder quantities, lead times, etc.
- Inventory and Control knowledge: Knowledge of inventory and control techniques and best practices
