**Rail & Technology Systems - Commercial Manager**

We are searching for a Commercial Manager to join the Rail and Technology Systems team in Perth, WA. Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager, you will join a successful and expanding team that supports UGL’s telecommunications and technology projects.

In this key leadership role, your primary focus will be to manage all aspects of contracts administration (upstream and downstream) through project delivery and eventual contract closeout. You will provide commercial leadership and contractual expertise, ensuring contractual requirements are adhered to and the interests of UGL protected.

**About the role**
- Provide commercial support to our Communications and Technology projects in Western Australia
- Ensure the management and implementation of effective commercial practices, including contractual and legal compliance relating to our project and procurement activities
- Operate and maintain project commercial systems and procedures in accordance with UGL’s policies and processes, and the upstream contract framework
- Engage with internal and external legal advisors, ensure appropriate instruction is provided to obtain advice on project and contractual matters

You will also provide day-to-day commercial support including:

- Participate in commercial handovers for successfully awarded contracts
- Support Project Managers in post contract administration to ensure compliance with upstream contract obligations
- Support identification, development and negotiation of upstream variations and progress claims. Prepare variation, extension of time and other claim documentation.
- Participate in cost to complete reviews and assist the Project Manager with forecasting requirements in line with monthly reporting
- Work with key stakeholder to provide guidance and advice on upstream and downstream contracts and commercial matters that arise

**About you**

Key qualifications, experience and skills that will see you succeed in this role include:

- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Law or equivalent years’ experience
- At least 4 years’ experience managing the administration of upstream client contracts is essential
- At least 4 years’ experience in a contract management role or equivalent
- Experience in a contracting organisation within the construction and infrastructure environments (is ideal)
- Experience negotiating variations, claims, EOT and mitigating any contractual disputes
