Assistant Manager

The Company

Our client is a non-profit organization that aims to provide the SA Pig Industry with technical and production expertise, through the provision of high-quality and high-value genetic material (semen) to support the futureproofing of the nation’s pig industry.

The Role

Due to increased growth within the business, our client is seeking an Assistant Manager to join their team. This person will be based in Clare Valley, South Australia and report directly to the General Manager.

Previous pig industry experience will be necessary to succeed in this position. The successful applicant will be a confident decision-maker who can support a diverse team across the farm to reach their full potential. This role is an opportunity to be provided with extensive in-house training.

The Assistant Manager will:
Communicate effectively with General Manager, Boar unit staff and other stakeholders within the business

Maintain accurate records and timely reports as required

Oversee and direct good workplace safety and training of staff

Actively manage the Boar Unit and other business interests to operate within budget

Lead by example, supervise and encourage staff to carry out tasks to the best of their ability
