**ASSISTANT TRAINER -**
Griffiths dekock Racing has an outstanding opportunity for a dedicated Assistant Trainer to join our Cranbourne Racing Stable. The successful applicant will be required to assist with the day-to-day management of all facets of the training business, this will include managing resources and ensuring the following tasks are completed on time and that resources are used optimally to ensure work flows smoothly and efficiently.
Core objectives of the role include:
- Implementing exercise routines and schedules developed by the trainer
- Following supplement and stable vet schedules
- Excellent horsemanship skills
- Demonstrate knowledge and proven experience to train, educate and manage young and older horses
- Recognise and identify injuries in horses and to treat minor injuries
- Maintain and prepare horse records, including trackwork schedules and training programs
- Operate and maintain hazardous equipment and identify any associated risks, occupational health and safety issues
- Operate both Treadmill and walker
- Liase with Vets, farriers, transport companies
- Manage staff situations in a clear concise manner. Identify such matters and offer both advise and support when deemed necessary
- Oversee both experience and inexperienced staff, offering advice and help as required
- Managing some owner communication on behalf of the Head Trainers
- Management of equine tracking technology and analysing results
- Strong level of English skills both written and verbal
- Representation of the stable on Raceday

The above duties and the role may change to meet the overall objectives of the company.
Successful applicants must have a genuine desire to learning about all areas of the business and a willingness to work hard and adapt to change quickly. Attention to detail, organisation/time management and strong written and verbal communication are essential skills, as is being a people person and having the ability to influence others and work well in a team.
