The office of the Clinical Director of Medical Services is responsible for effectively managing the PHO and registrar workforce of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS). The SCHHS has expanded significantly over the past year, and the responsibilities of the office also include recruitment, retention, and coordination of exams. The unit is also responsible for locum engagement, daily medical rosters, term rotations and leave management.

**Key Responsibilities include**:

- In consultation with Clinical Directors, manage, facilitate, coordinate and monitor clinical term rosters and allocations including out-of-hours rosters for all PHO/ Registrars within the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Nambour General Hospital and Gympie Hospital ensuring cost-effective
- practices and adherence to award conditions whilst taking into consideration PHO/ Registrar training and organisational needs.
- Develop rosters for PHO/ Registrar staff and distribute them to relevant areas including payroll.
- Manage leave relief, emergent roster changes and shift swaps for PHO/ Registrars, providing notification to payroll and key stakeholders.
- Effectively coordinate challenging staffing roster shortages at short notice.
