**About the Centre**

The Hawthorn Aquatic and Leisure Centre (HAALC) is one of 4 facilities in Boroondara, and is owned by City of Boroondara and managed proudly by The Y. The facility contains a 750m2 Health Club, 3 program rooms, an outdoor 50m pool, indoor pool, café, sauna, and child care services.

**About the Role**

As an Infant and Preschool Swim Teacher at the HAALC, you will design and implement lesson plans that foster swimming skills in children from infancy through school age. You will combine stroke development with water safety to boost your students' confidence and abilities in the water. Your role will include:

- Structure and design of lessons with appropriate activities that challenge and develop your students swimming and water safety ability
- Recommending students for level progression as appropriate
- Teaching and modeling effective problem solving skills and conflict resolution skills

This is a casual role with an hourly rate of $35.35 + super & Y Benefits.

**About You**

You will be passionate about inspiring and developing water safety and swimming skills in children and young people. Experience in other teaching or coaching roles is a bonus but not necessary. Personal attributes such as patience, respect, and enthusiasm will take you far as a Swim Teacher

- Demonstrate a passion and enthusiasm to teach children to swim
- Provide excellent customer service to parents and students alike
- Be motivated and committed to perform to a high standard
- Be friendly, polite and approachable at all times
- Display interest, enthusiasm, patience and respect to children and peers

**Essential Qualifications**
- HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- Accredited Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (AUSTSWIM or equivalent)
- Teacher of Infants and Preschool Aquatics Qualification

**Other Desired Qualifications**
- Teacher Developing Competitive Strokes or equivalent
- Teacher of Aquatics - Access and Inclusion
- Teacher of Adults
