**About the role**

MCEC is embarking on a journey of continuous improvement, automation, and changes to improve the financial and operational processes to help assist our people, customers, and suppliers.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Continuous Improvement (CI) Finance Lead will contribute towards all tactical & strategic matters related to continuous improvement in the business. This role plays an integral part in ensuring process efficiencies and optimising activities that generate value and reduce wastage.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Undertake deep dive data analysis and value stream mapping as a program of work (including ongoing reviews) with a focus on all existing Finance processes
- Identify gaps, and bottlenecks to eliminate work duplication, influence operational cost reduction and deploy best practices across the business.
- Use a combination of Agile Project Management (PM) and Continuous Improvement (CI) tools and techniques to lead & implement projects, validate issues, identify root causes, develop corrective actions, formulate SOPs and implement change.
- Support cultural change that embraces CI through the education and use of lean methodology and Kaizen philosophy.
- Cost Centre and General Ledger Maintenance/Creation custodian
- Access reviews and Delegations of Authority integrity maintenance
- General ledger interrogation
- Development and testing of upgrades to Ungerboeck.
- Act as the “go-to” for system and reporting issues.
- Provide financial systems training.
- Supporting the Procurement Transformation Project team with redesigning stthe ocktake process and determining appropriate frequency & ensuring accuracy
- Lead annual asset count reviews.
- Lead with implementing new systems and automation initiatives and provide similar support where required

**Qualifications, knowledge, and Experience**:
**Essential**
- Tertiary degree in Business or Commerce
- CA/CPA qualified.
- 7+ years of broad commercial experience in Commercial Finance roles or someone from consulting background looking to move into industry or similar
- Experience in leading the financial and management accounting functions within a medium to large organisation
- Strong planning and management skills to prioritise and balance timeframes
- Continuous improvement mindset with experience in process improvement and/or transformation experience
- Exemplary customer service focus
- Demonstrated track record in being pro-active and identifying opportunities
- Well-developed written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Well-developed people skills to engage and build relationships across all levels of the organisation
- Strong stakeholder engagement that fosters inclusive and collaborative environment
- Dynamic individual with the ability to lead and inspire change
- Self-driven with a strong sense of urgency, commitment to deadlines and deliverables
- Experience with accounting systems and good working knowledge of the MS Office package

**Desirable**
- Experience with Ungerboeck Software
