The Assessment and Referral Court (ARC) is a solution-focused court underpinned by principles of therapeutic jurisprudence and recovery-oriented mental health practice. ARC focuses on understanding and responding to underlying factors contributing to offending behaviour for people experiencing mental ill-health and/or cognitive impairment.

**About the Role**

Supporting the Court Coordinator, the Listings Registrar and Assessment and Referral Court (ARC) Coordinator performs a dual function of supporting the listing and registry functions across all jurisdictions and more specifically the coordination of the ARC list, including in-court duties.

The Listings Registrar and ARC Coordinator operates in a complex, demanding and sensitive environment, and the role requires the ability to exercise sound judgement and discretion while liaising effectively with the Judiciary, court users and more specifically members of the ARC multidisciplinary team, and ARC participants. The role requires regular interaction with accused persons who are experiencing a serious mental illness and/or cognitive impairment.

Key accountabilities include:

- Providing information and authoritative advice on court procedures, practices, and protocols to all court users
- Preparing customised correspondence, reports and/or presentations for a broad range of internal and external audiences that presents sometimes complex information in a factual manner
- Representing the Court in internal and external settings and drive community engagement through education about ARC and related programs within the courts
- Coordinating caseload, listing practices, and procedures within the ARC list ensuring legislative requirements are met; prepare and distribute court lists, manage the court calendar and perform ARC bench clerk duties as required.
- Performing (as a Registrar) all legal, administrative, and quasi-judicial functions relating to the day-to-day and ongoing operations of the Court Coordinator, and more particularly ARC, under limited direction from the Court Coordinator

**About You**
- Demonstrated knowledge of legislation, practices, policies, and procedures applicable to Victorian Courts and Tribunals.
