Security Manager

Carnival Corporation & plc is excited to announce: We are hiring a **Security Manager** to join our Maritime Operations Team. This full-time permanent position will be based in the **Chatswood district of Sydney**and will support the Director of Security Operations in ensuring company-wide security policies and procedures meet Flag State regulatory requirements, host nation obligations, and best practice industry standards. This is a pivotal shore-based role acting as a principal contact for ship Captains and Executive Committee members in all operational security matters. This role will see you monitoring global and local threats, support shipboard teams, and maintain operational readiness, while fostering strong working relationships with government and port authorities.

**Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to**:

- Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable maritime and aviation security legislation
- Act as the liaison between onboard security and shoreside operations
- Oversee policy development, fleet-wide audits, and operational implementation
- Lead and support shipboard security personnel, including recruitment, training, and performance management
- Manage security protocols relating to passenger screening, access control, and emergency response
- Maintain up-to-date global threat assessments and intelligence sharing
- Develop collaborative relationships with external authorities and emergency services
- Coordinate ship advance programs with international government agencies
- Drive the development and delivery of onboard and shoreside security training
- Provide guidance and consultation during onboard incidents and emergency situations
- Support the Emergency Response Organisation (ERO) as required

**About You**:
You will have experience in a security or law enforcement role with a strong investigative background, including preparing evidence briefs for legal proceedings. You will possess a solid understanding of maritime and aviation security regulations, particularly in relation to Flag State and Host Nation compliance. Ideally, you will have hands-on experience in shipboard or port security operations and hold a security-related degree or equivalent senior-level experience. You will bring strong leadership and communication skills, the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement. A sound understanding of commercial operations, a flexible and solutions-focused mindset, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, customer-focused security outcomes are essential.

**To be successful, you will need to demonstrate**:

- 5+ years in a managerial role within security or law enforcement
- Proven investigative background with experience compiling evidence briefs for prosecution
- Extensive maritime or port security experience
- Working knowledge of relevant international regulations and travel industry best practices
- Ability to obtain federal government security clearance - high level
- Designated detective level
- Intimate knowledge of commonwealth crimes at sea
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Business acumen with a focus on operational quality and customer safety
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and lead through change
- Team-focused, adaptable, and driven to achieve results

**Qualifications**:

- Degree in a security-related field or equivalent substantial managerial experience
