Security Manager

**The Company**

We are placing this role into our client who were established in Australia in 2013, and is a leading, fully integrated owner, operator, investment manager and developer of purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) and lifestyle solutions, with billions of dollars in assets under management, on behalf of global wholesale and institutional investors.

They’re existing Australian portfolio comprises 35 high quality assets located in the key education precincts of Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney with ~16,300 operational beds and ~5,900 beds under development.

**The Role**

An amazing opportunity has become available for a Security & Support Centre Manager to join our customer’s thriving team based in the Sydney CBD. Reporting directly to the National Wellbeing, Experience and Safety Manager, the purpose of the role is to lead high-quality safety, and incident support to the portfolio through the operational team and a variety of overnight stakeholders.

The role is central to the operational response of incident resources across all properties. This role also provides afterhours resident contact support.

**Key Deliverables**

**Management**:

- Budget Management, Rostering & Payroll
- Building business plans that support the National Wellbeing, Experience & Safety Manager and the achievement of the company’s Strategic Plan.
- Ensuring that the management and delivery of the operation’s primary channels such as Alarm Monitoring, Resources Co-ordination, Incident Management and Afterhours Resident Support are delivered to the portfolio during the operational coverage periods.
- Develop and implement policy, process, procedures, and a framework which supports safety, incident management, productivity, and efficiency.
- Lead and drive major safety efficiency and improvement projects.
- Communicate clear vision, set, and drive operational targets, KPIs for the operational team in line with the National Wellbeing, Experience & Safety KPIs.
- Cover the duties and role of the Security & Support Centre Operator on the nights that they are off duty.
- Ensure that all residents and staff follow the Emergency Procedures.

**Security Control Room Operations**:

- Coordinate and monitor security patrols, ensuring proper coverage of all areas within the student accommodation portfolio, specifically focusing on properties accommodating individuals under 18. Assign patrol routes, track patrol activities, and provide guidance to security personnel as needed.
- Collaborate closely with on-site security personnel, property management, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination of security-related activities.
- Utilise vehicle tracking systems to monitor and track the location of patrol cars and overnight staff in real-time.
- Co-ordinate effective vehicle inspection process and damage reporting.

**Incident Coordination**:

- Liaise with and coordinate on-site security personnel, staff, emergency services, government agencies, contractors, and relevant stakeholders to ensure a timely and effective resolution.
- Take necessary actions to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of residents.

**Reporting & Escalation**:

- Complete all reporting requirements including Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Contributions.
- Follow and ensure all stakeholders follow all Emergency and Escalation procedures.
- Oversee the accurate and timely reporting of security incidents, accidents, or violations.

**Customer Service**:

- Provide a professional and friendly presence while interacting with residents, staff, and visitors.
- Assist residents with inquiries, address security concerns, and ensure a welcoming atmosphere.
- Manage the requirements of the Under 18 compliance process.
- Be fluent with technical operational platforms including but not limited to StarRez (PMS), Service Now, Rapid Incident Reporting, and resident support services.
- Work closely with other team members, including operational staff, facility managers, and student staff, to ensure a coordinated and effective security operation.
- Conduct detailed shift handovers with property staff as per company guidelines.

**Risk Assessment and Prevention**:

- Assist in conducting regular risk assessments of the student accommodation portfolio.
- Identify potential security vulnerabilities and recommend and implement appropriate measures to prevent security breaches and enhance overall security.

**Legal & Compliance**:

- Be fully conversant with the local legislative compliance and the Residential Tenancy Agreement, resident policies and applicable Rules and Regulations, and work with Ops management to enforce them with impartiality.
- Adhere to all security protocols, company policies, and applicable laws and regulations related to CCTV monitoring, incident management, and privacy concerns regarding residents and staff.

**About you**:

- Diploma in Security Risk Management
- CCTV security-related cert
