About the School

Cambooya State School is a small school located the the township of Cambooya, about 20 minutes drive south of Toowoomba. The school has approximately 160 students in 7 classes and has provided educational opportunities to students in Cambooya and the surrounding district for 142 years.

About the Role

Perform the Business Manager role in a school of 160 students. This will include most elements of the OneSchool program - enrolments and student management, school finance, budgeting, purchasing, assistance with organising school events/ excursions and student management. The role will also involve preparation and distribution of school communication, management of the school office, front office duties interacting with parents and students and supporting school staff with various school management processes.

Responsibilities include:
Operate autonomously to undertake day to day office procedures within well-defined policies (e.g. reception, arranging appointments, correspondence, maintaining school records and general administration); and utilise information and management systems (e.g. OneSchool) to support effective and efficient reporting and administration.
Undertake the day to day supervision and management of school support staff, including monitoring workloads and performance (working in collaboration with the Principal for any difficult performance management situations); identifying workforce capability requirements; and role modelling performance standards.
Assist the Principal with the preparation of the school budget and administer day to day financial matters (i.e. accounts payable/receivable, corporate card monitoring, reconciliations, banking). Input and export data to/from OneSchool for the Principal, to assist with budgeting and financial management.

ability to work as part of a team to provide a high standard of education to all students at Cambooya.
high level of functional knowledge and ability with the various elements of OneSchool.
ability to engage with community members (parents, students, visitors, staff, contractors).
knowledge of the current Blue Card process as it applies to State Schools.
ability to support various staff teams, especially with the process of meetings (agenda, minutes, actions and followup, distribute various materials.
pleasant and engaging manner when working with others.
