Director, Real Estate Debt Origination

**Primary Responsibilities**
- Maintain and develop relationships with commercial real estate developers and investors, advisors and intermediaries to source real estate lending opportunities
- Participate in industry related events (internal and external, conferences, etc.)
- Create and implement a clear market coverage strategy to drive origination volume
- Mentor and assist with training and developing junior team members within the group
- Work with the team on credit papers, transaction reviews, financial modelling, market surveys, tenant credit analysis, and analysing third-party reports
- Present investments to the Investment Committee
- Work with legal counsel and the team to negotiate term sheets, loan agreements, intercreditor agreements and related legal documentation

**Qualifications & Skills**
- 10+ years commercial real estate investment experience, including five years minimum
- Bachelor's degree required with Real Estate, Business or Finance major preferred
- experience in structured debt originations
- Team player with strong leadership qualities, a client service focus and a high standard of professionalism
- Strong network of contacts among owners, developers, brokers, financiers, and others active in Australian real estate markets
- Experience screening, structuring and closing commercial real estate loans
- Sophisticated financial skills, quantitative underwriting skills, and capital markets perspective
- Solutions focused mindset; ability to creatively structure investments to achieve investment requirements
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; effective negotiator with demonstrated ability to achieve consensus
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet tight timelines
