The Millewa service was officially opened on 24 July 1977 after a group of mothers decided at a meeting on 21 June 1973 that the children in the community needed a local pre-school as many families were travelling 75kms or more to access kindergarten for their children. That first year there were 18 enrolments at the Millewa service, many of whom continued their connection with the Pre-School when their own children were of an age to attend either three or four-year-old kindergarten. Pre-School parents became Pre-School grandparents and Pre-School children became Pre-School parents

The role of Centre Manager and Director will be working with the School as Licensee to undertake some of the regulatory compliance that is required including updating policies, Quality Improvement Plans (QIPs), using the Kindergarten Information Management System (KIMS).

As the early childhood teacher, educational leader and Centre manager for a combined 3 and 4 year old Kinder program, you will be a highly professional and knowledgeable leader responsible for implementing a quality educational program and curriculum in line with approved learning frameworks to support the education and care needs of the children. You will ensure your own practices, and those of others, are consistently performed to a high standard.
